Research Guides: Choose Search Strategies

Choose Search Strategies

After you've defined and narrowed a research topic, you need to identify your search terms by listing related words and synonyms, and then develop strategies to perform your search. The common search strategies include basic search (keyword), advanced search (Boolean Operators, author, title), phrase search, and subject search. You can also use search limiters to narrow down or broaden your search results if you are looking for information from the Virtual Library research databases.

Links to websites that do not include Bryantstratton.edu in the address are suggested as information helpful for students and faculty. The websites are not affiliated with Bryant & Stratton College.
